First day of navarathri visits!
Samanyu is all dressed up to go to places. In the end we went to Sobey's house for dinner and he had a nice time fighting with karun for some plastic bowls.

Daily Jots? I wonder what I was thinking!
Someone asked my wife whether the articles (if you can call them that) in this blog are the only thoughts I had in my mind! Well, of course not! I haven't yet found the magic formula for when an article is kosher for the blog. That is what makes writing everyday a harder proposition.
While searching for some baby parenting stuff, I came across this blog... interesting reading http://indian-parents.blogspot.com/
I used to laugh at folks going from US to India with their infants, when they said that most of their luggage is baby stuff. I used to wonder why people are carrying diapers, wipes, packaged baby foods, etc. I always used to think that pampers, huggies, etc. are also available in India, and even if we do spend a bit more (maybe), it is worth it to not carry that stuff from here. But now I know better! We are doing the very same thing! Apparently the diapers and wipes you get in India are not of the same quality. I can't find any information about similac in India. When you think about it, is it worth the risk? I don't think so! Might as well take as much as you can from here. The only consolation is that, when you come back, most of the stuff is used up and so you have empty suitcases to get all the new stuff you bought in India!
Why is it that the quality of the same brands is poorer in India than here? I had kellogg's cereal and coke in India once and I remember thinking that they were not the same in quality. Even envelopes you get from India are so thin and easily torn. Must be a function of cost and quality of raw materials. Of course, that explains why so much of stuff here has gone down in quality, as they are made in India and China...

Wow.. Its been 2 months, and nothing written
In the meantime, Samanyu is crawling all over the place and going to every nook and cranny. We are leaving on vacation too soon, so God only knows how he is going to sit still in the flight! He wants to stand up and he has managed to do so by himself. The next step is walking...
